Tiana

"This series features model and all around creative Tiana Jade (@afrocentric.heaux). I'm so inspired by human beings so for this shoot I wanted to really accentuate Tiana as a unique and beautiful individual. I always love using prisms because within every photo is duality. There is the final edit that we all see that feels polished and put together, and then there is all of the work and individuals that comprise that one image. We're so accustomed to aimlessly scrolling through a sea of incredible images, each of which was carefully and lovingly created. When I use prisms I'm asking the viewer to consider the alternate perspective, to see the rest of the story. In the case of portraiture I feel like prisms don't just create an ethereal atmosphere, but also encourage the viewer to think outside of the photo and really think about the human they are encountering in that moment and all the different facets that make them who they are."
